What is Hard Disk?
Harddisk (HDD) is a mechanical piece of hardware that securely contains your important and permanent data (sound, image, video, film, software) on your computer, but it can also be used externally. Due to its mechanical nature, it is slower than other storage methods. There is a disc made of plastic, iron or glass inside, circular traces are created on this disc with the help of magnets, and our data is stored and managed. These traces are called tracks. However, since the tracks cannot be completely erased, the only way to completely destroy the data on the hard disk is to destroy the hard disk. Another important feature of hard disks is that they can contain data even when our computer is turned off.
There are three different types of hard drives used. These; PATA is SCSI and SATA. SCSI is especially used in servers with Apple and Unix operating systems. Although PATA has an old technology, it is still used, but it is gradually being replaced by SATA. Because SATA is more advantageous than PATA in terms of speed and cost.
